Rondelecia odorata is also known as the perfume rose of Panama. Evergreen shrubs Alexandria von Humboldt and Amy Bonpendad first collected the tree from Mexico. The plant name of this tree is attached to the fourth edition of Nova Genera et Species Plantarum in 1818. The name of Rondelsesa is a memento of Sir Guillaume Randilite.
