Female Reproductive Organ:Uterus

Uterus :the uterus is a hollow pyriform muscular organ situated in the pelvis between the bladder in front and thr rectum behind.
It is female reproductive organ.Its also name is child bearing bag.

Anatomy of uterus:
position :Its normal position is one of the anteversion and anteflexion.
N:B-anteversion:it is the Normal angle between the long axis of the cervix and the long axis of vagina.It is about 90 degree.
anteflexion:it is the normal angle the long axis of the cervix and the long axis of vagina.It is about 120 degree.

Measurement :It's about 8cm long and 5 cm wide at the fundus and its walls are about 1.25 cm thick.
Parts:It has got 3 parts
1) Body or corpus-fundus,body proper
2)Isthmus
3)Cervix

     Layer:perimetrium,Myometrium,Endometrium.

Blood supply:
Uterine artery arises from the anterior division of the internal iliac artety either directly or ad a branch of the hypogastric artery.
Ovarian and Vaginal arteries:it anastomoses with uterine arteries.

Venous drainage:The venous channels correspond to the arterial course and drain into internal iliac veins.

Nerve supply:
sympathetic :T5 and T6 and T10-L1 spinal segments.
parasympathetic supply:S2-S4 spinal segments.

Support of uterus:Two kinds of support-primary and secondary.Primary support have mascular and ligamentous support.it helps the human to keep the uterus of its normal position.

Changes of size of uterus in different age:Increasing of age the size of uterus will be changed.The changing occurs from birth to 75 years old.
