Love For Self

To be able to love someone else and humanity at large, you must, of necessity, love yourself first. Self love comes first before love for others can be possible. Some people find it hard to go pass their past errors but keep visiting the thoughts and harming themselves emotionally. Now I ask you, if you cannot forgive yourself for a wrong you did, how do you hope to forgive others?

No matter how long you brood over past error, it cannot erase your yesterday, so learn to move on. Always revisiting your past will only keep you from accessing the future.

Going back to the past does not override what you did in the past, but you can do something positively today that can make up for your yesterday's lapses and set your path aright for a positive future.

Appreciation to others is always almost preceeded by appreciation of self. If you cannot appreciate your own self, then appreciating others may be very difficult. This is because, you are your own greatest ally and forgetting that will make you less appreciative of yourself and also of others.

It is worthy to note that self-love and self appreciation is very different from pride. Self-love is acknowledging the fact that you are working towards perfection, while pride is estimating yourself above your worth, so you need to know the difference.

When you start appreciating the person you see when you look at the mirror (that is yourself), then you will become a better human, not just for yourself but for humanity at large.
