instant gratification is so addictive

in #blog7 years ago

We seem to be conditioned for the quick effects. Input and immediate output. Quick success. Quick rewards. I guess that's why video games, facebook likes, and other channels that give us almost "instant" gratification so addictive.

Yet, their satisfaction seem to be shallow and in the long-run mostly inexistent. And perhaps the true warriors journey, involves time and effort. As time challenges the impatient little kid within. And it forces us to sit with that impatient little kid. To stay in the fire. Until the satisfaction of creation itself becomes the essential part of our lives. Where we learn to fall in love, not with the outcome but with the doing itself.

Ps. We have moved to a small half wood, half stone house in Mexico. It's still empty and dusty - as it hasn't been used for a while. And simple yet surrounded by trees in beautiful nature, and we have no clue yet what we are going to do with it - the plan is to make something beautiful. I signed a contract for a year. Gosh, a lot of work to come and a lot to learn. I'll keep you updated. :)
