Club5050 || The City's Efforts in Reducing Waste Pollution
Hello dear friends and always share knowledge about the environment. I wish you all the best and success wherever you are my friend.
Recently, an environmental journalist, Emily Gertz, in her article in The New Humanitarian stated that 75% of all plastic produced in the world ends up as waste, most of which comes from single-use plastics. Of the total plastic waste, only 9% has been successfully recycled, 12% is processed using incinerators, and the rest pollutes the environment, both on land and at sea.
In response to this situation, the global Plastic Smart Cities initiative invites cities around the world to come together to realize the vision of "NO PLASTIC IN NATURE". The city government is invited to take action in dealing with environmental pollution caused by plastic waste and reduce the leakage of plastic waste in nature by up to 30%.
The PSC program hopes to embrace commitments from 1,000 cities worldwide by 2030, to support the achievement of the 7 global sustainable development goals (SDG's).
You know? If Indonesia, through the Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2020-2024, has made a transformation in urban areas in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the concepts of Smart City, Green City, and Sustainable City.
The concept of a green city or green city is the concept of sustainable and environmentally sound urban development that is achieved by a balanced development strategy between economic growth, social life and environmental protection. So that the city becomes a livable place, not only for the current generation, but also for the next generation.
In my country, Indonesia, the Plastic Smart City Program has begun to be followed by cities such as Bogor and Depok. Currently, other cities that are starting to prepare for a similar program are Jakarta, Makassar, and the city of Denpasar Bali
In its implementation, Plastic Smart Cities will connect stakeholders, both at the city level, such as city/district governments, communities, business people, and other civil society organizations to synergize and implement solutions to eliminate plastic pollution in Indonesia.
In nature, this starts from encouraging the application of waste, management policies, waste management systems through the application of 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), entrepreneurial innovation/technology models, advancing the circular economy, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and public campaigns.
Let's prevent plastic leakage in nature, and support your city to create a healthy, comfortable and peaceful environment without plastic waste.
greetings for environmental sustainability

Good post, the problem of plastic waste will become a ticking time bomb, when there are still many people who ignore it, but if it is not addressed immediately, we will feel the consequences. hope not.
