Esteban's training wheels came off today...

I recall spending at least a few weeks getting used to the feeling of no longer having the extra two wheels at the back, yet Esteban was perfectly balanced right away!

Here in our courtyard he was wasn't able to turn corners but once we took him to the park he had no problem at all.

I suspect he took to it so quickly because his previous bike looked like this.

No pedals or break but balance was still required. Making him set to go for today, which in my mind was an important milestone! That much closer to his own personal freedom from mum & dad ;)

In other news Luna is still painting in her own unique style ;)

Whereas Esteban enjoys re-creating things from the books I read him before bed. Here you can see a dolphin and a desert island out at sea.

Yesterday he asked me a question which really made my heart smile:

"How does Planet Earth stay up in the air Sam?"

Am pretty sure I wasn't contemplating such things at his age!

Naturally, I explained the heliocentric answer (planets are orbiting the sun due to its enormous gravitational pull) and the geocentric answer (we are at the centre of everything). I told him what most people believe and I told him the most popular alternative: that we are trapped within a dome, upon a flat earth, in a world of lies and deception.

Too much for a four year old?

Perhaps. Though he does seem to appreciate it when I simply speak my mind.

I also told him that truth is just a word to describe what we believe and he can believe anything he likes!
