In times of prosperity and normalcy, we tend to remember just how much we depend on God. When peace surrounds us, we allow ourselves to fall into a routine. We wake up, get a cup of coffee, read our Bible, say a quick prayer, and then go about our day. Our relationship with God can become commonplace – and it should be a normal, common, part of our everyday lives. However, we don’t have to allow our feelings towards God to become common and dull in the process.

David wrote, “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens… When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?... O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” (Psalm 8)

Though God was never too far from David’s mind, he still fell into awe at the power and love that God wields, and so should we. Don’t allow your relationship to become so usual that you forget just how amazing it truly is. Take a few moments out of every day to stand in awe of our God. Remember just how powerful He is. Allow the truth of His might and superiority to humble you when you recall all the times He held you through your struggles. Praise Him as He deserves. Honor Him with your life. Love Him as your Savior and friend, and let the truth that The Creator of the heavens and earth loves you remind you just how special you are. For you, He sent His Son. For you, He bled and died; and for you, He will come again.
