My friend got married

in #wedding6 years ago

My friend, a Catholic by faith, got married to a Brahmin guy yesterday. I and two other classmates from school went on to attend the wedding which has cakes, wine and soothing music. The bride was dressed in an all white gown and looked stunningly gorgeous. The groom was no less. Dress in a black tuxedo, he slayed. We were absolutely happy, it had been a sort of get together after around 8 years that we haven't met each other. We were minus our families, so that made us behave like school kids without responsibilities.

We friends had a great time teasing the bride and the groom for how awkward the groom was throughout the wedding and the reception. The groom, must have fought real hard with his parents to get this girl as his lawfully wedded wife because a Brahmin taking a Christian girl home is not easy back here in India.

So getting back to the awkwardness. The groom had to hold the wine glass and the cake with egg in it. The groom must have surely had wine and other things earlier for he has dated my classmate for over 5 years, but still he had to pretend as if he doesn't know what's in the glass. He kept his eyes rolling when his parents watched them with red anger filled eyes. Drinking in front of parents is real awkward for earning kids here in India. The guy was literally confused if he should drink or not.

The groom's parents were angry, but they left the stage for a while because it was necessary for the couple to raise the toast and have a sip of the wine. The guy could take his sip as his parents turned their back to them. The guy had other awkward situations as well where he referred to the best man as 'the bridegroom'.

We all seriously had a good time making fun of the bride and groom which we shouldn't have, but then the bride is quite used to it from the very beginning of her life, for we were her classmates since grade 1.
