Energy OF Light

In the beginning of human history lanterns, candles and moonlight were only the source of illumination. During the 19th century gas lighting was developed which was one of the biggest failure of that epoch as gas lighting produces a sparkle light that causes ignition of combustion and burned down many of the playhouses and home places.  

Gas lightning caused many severe damages in the history then Scientists started their researches and departed on working to another medium to provide the source of light, they went from gas lighting to the electric lighting in the 1800.Electric lighting was invented in 1809 which was named Electric Arc Lighting, EAC was safer but provides too much illumination for small areas. EAC was bright for the smaller place which cannot be used for commercial purpose then entered the one of the greatest scientist Thomas Alva Edison.  

Thomas Edison:

Electric Light is one of the mandatory substance in our daily life,if there is no light we can only feel the darkness around us. Electric Light is one of the needed inventions of human history that has affected our life in major ways.  

Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan on 11 February,1847 considered as the inventor of light bulb but Thomas Edison’s bulb was not the first light bulb which was invented before Thomas’s invention 23 different light bulbs were developed whose principle was to pass the electric current through a wool powerful enough to make it glow without igniting the combustion. Edison’s version was the first commercially practical luminous light and was considered one of the best luminous light among the previous versions of light bulb. Inventions before the Thomas Edison’s also provided the luminous but those inventions were very expensive and were not applicable to use it for commercial purpose whereas Thomas’s invention was not a piece of cake for him he tested around 6000 materials to offer cheap and harmless luminous for the people and he found out the best substance to ignite light was carbonized cotton thread.   

 Why Thomas Alva Edison’s Invention?

• Produces over 13 hours of continuous light.  
• Usage of cotton filament.
• Later worked on the substance carbonized bamboo.
• Carbonized bamboo provides over 1200 continuous light.  
• 25 buildings in New York City's financial district were illuminated in 1882.
• Cheap.
• First ever commercially practiced invention.
