SteemitPhotoChallenge Entry #1: Fig Spread
This is my first entry to the tree-themed 32nd Steemit Photo Challenge.
Big ups and many thanks to @jamtaylor and @berniesanders for hosting this competition each week here on our beloved Steemit!
My first entry is a beautiful fig leaf from one of four beautiful fig trees at @quinneaker's revolutionary ecovillage @gardenofeden where I live:
We have tons of gorgeous trees that provide incredible, fresh air on this peaceful plot of land that's only minutes from the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The oxygen is awesome, but I'm particularly grateful for the trees that gift us yummy things to eat! In addition to fig trees, we have peach, mulberry, hackberry, and pecan trees (ironically, there are no apple trees @gardenofeden). I'm happy to see the fig trees budding out again - hopefully we'll have pounds of figs on hand again soon, as it's one of my favorite times of year!
For your enjoyment, here's a little more figgy love
from this sweet life, because figs are super awesome:
The figs were so prolific this season that a mere
10 minute harvest yielded 2.5 pounds of fruit...
...delicious, delicious fruit!
One of my favorite parts of our fig harvest is that the ever lovely @everlove prepares epic fig feast platters for us to enjoy together:
And @loveon alchemizes the dank fruits into Über Dank preserves!
That's right - Spiced Fig Spread with Rosemary, available on Peerhub by SBD exchange!!!
Trees are one of the greatest things on Earth, so I'm especially looking forward to seeing the other entries to this SPC - good luck to all!!
💛 Sara!

thanks @saramiller! I'd love to taste the marmelade! But actually your entry is a leaf and not a tree. ;) Anyhow, it's a great pic!
I agree that trees are some of the greatest things on Earth. And it's so nice to have figs! They seem so tropical, but there are varieties that will grow even in the Chicago, Illinios area. Figs can be expensive to buy, so they are easy to pass by in the store. But from a tree or two, there is real abundance -- it's easy to have all the figs you could want. I'm a fan of fig trees, too, lol, can you tell? Happy growing!
Here's Sara, sharing much more than a photo!!! I love how you do it! Great shot.
good posting...^^
