Needlework Monday _DIY MASK against CoronaV__ by @crosheille

Greetings to all! I hope everyone is alright despite the ordeal that we're now facing. I myself, am somewhat hesitant to go out knowing that older people like me are prone to this invisible attackers.

Yes, I stay at home but there are times when I need to buy something for my daily needs since I only live alone at home. My kids are scattered in Cebu, Dumaguete and Bacolod. I prefer Antonia to stay with her other grandma because she has younger cousins over there to play with.

One of the precautionary measure is to wear masks and take note: that it should be used once only. It's quite expensive and even if you can afford it, there's none available because of the high demand. Of course, nobody wants to get contaminated with this COVID-19. GOD FORBID!

Because of this urgency to wear masks, I find it best to look for materials that are good enough for me to use whenever I go out. I thought of my used bras which I haven't used and turned it into a mask. As you can see above, the foam is thin with safe linings attached on both side plus the outer cover of the pads is more than enough than those disposable masks, right?

After cutting the pads, I used a thin cloth for the covering. That jaguar printed cloth is actually so thin like stockings. I folded it into two. I measured the length from ear to ear.

It easy guys, you only need to sew one side of the cloth then insert the pad. You may even use a thin hankie and manually baste the edging.

After inserting the pad, close both ends in two-fold then insert the straps of your bra on both ends. The single strap is more convenient because you can put it down your neck and put it back easily. After using, wash it with soap and water and pour hot water afterwards.

Try it my friends, it's easy and you can save your money for other needs.

Thanking @crosheille for initiating this project along with the magic three: @muscara, @shanibeer and @marblely.

Keep safe everyone! God bless us all.

It's me,
