Kiev, as you know, all woven from mysticism and secrets, and even the monument to "Motherland" did not escape the secret forces. I like this part of his story. The monument stands on the Black Mountain, and I do not even remember how many rumors I heard about him, his construction and the Black Mount on which he stands. They then arise, then subsided. I'm a noble lover of everything mysterious and mystical, of course I can not help remembering these stories.
Even before the opening of the monument, there were rumors among the people that the metal block was a creation of the impure, and the place for it was chosen not accidentally - the Black Mountain, over which birds can not fly. By the way, the daughter of the sculptor Vasily Boroday, who betrayed the monument features of her face, fell ill and quickly died. Motherland-Mother stands on the right bank face to the left, threatening with a sword. Perhaps, that is why the hostility between the West and the East is going on in Ukraine.
Many guides like to tell a bike that a curious function is built into the monument - Motherland-Mother welcomes Victory Day. Ostensibly every year, on May, 9th, at midnight, in the depth of the monument the clock mechanism works. Outwardly this is manifested as follows: powerful metal hands move together and the statue beats the sword on the shield, from awesome sound even the inhabitants of the neighboring houses wake up. And the giant is spinning! Every day makes a turn around its axis. Of course, this is not so, but the guests of the capital willingly believe this "legend". The statue is striking with its masculinity and grandeur. Its height is one hundred and two meters. It is one of the ten highest monuments in the world, and exceeds the height of the American Statue of Liberty.
