Fan Art Friday: Spirited Away (2 of 2)

For this fan art Friday I couldn't help but draw some of my favorite characters from Spirited Away. From the first time I watched the movie I fell in love with No Face. There is something about misunderstood monsters that just get to me. Even though he goes crazy, I just want to hug him every time I see his face. Before I go on check out part 1!

For this, I wanted to use charcoal because one of my favorite parts about him is how he fades in and out. Sometimes transparent, sometimes solid. I felt like charcoal would be the only thing that could capture both of those things. I felt like I had to work quick with this one but also be very careful. Charcoal smudges SO easy, and I wanted the solid parts to be as clean as possible to get the nice black/white contrast, and then fade it out with a blending stick.
