Into the Light - A Black and White Forest Perspective
When its to rough to dive, there is nothing better then a hike through the rain forest on the west coast.
I can't always be underwater getting images so I challenge myself to find other ways and places to be creative. Get outside and just shoot.
The parks and forests on Vancouver Island are some of the densest and lush in the Pacific Northwest. Hiking through these ancient groves allows for some very interesting and fun photo opportunities.
Even on bright days, the forest can feel dark and foreboding, light bounces and dances off the leaves and bark, casting and creating strange shapes, like monster hidden in shadow.
Life grows and thrives on top of other life, in a harmonious coexistence. Every inch of the undergrowth is covered in dead and decaying leaves and branches but through that new life sprouts and revitalizes the ever growing forest.
Thanks for reading, these images are from East Sooke Park on Vancouver Island. Nature is full of life and beauty get out there and share it with others.

All photos beeing captured black and white.... Specially the first one made me stop a bit. It is like an infinite maze, glourious forest king who tries to jeep the secret no matter of what. The maze is like infiite.

Stunning, awesome bokeh off the top of that first shot. What lens were you using? Looks almost like the helios bokeh of old!
