Good day, my lovely ladies. I hope you all are well. Today, I decided to participate in @m-fdo's "Photo of the Week" contest, since it is so unique. I'm not very adept at shooting pictures, but I think I can do it to some extent. Ladies, please watch and read my weekly photo and words, then give your thoughts in the comments area below. Here's an image of the main statue of the Koneswaram Temple in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. This sacred Koneswaram Temple is a Hindu temple on Sri Lanka's east coast. The temple is located on a high rocky point that is surrounded by the sea on three sides. People from all over the world, particularly from our neighboring nation India, come to see this temple since it is so important to Hindus.
The main statue of God Load Shiver, one of the principal deities in Hinduism, is located inside the temple. Loads Shiva is worshipped as the Supreme Being who created, protected, and changed the universe. His statue at the Koneswaram Temple represents divine power, purity, and eternal truth.
The statue shows Load Shiver representing in meditation pose known as ‘Padmasana’ or lotus position. This statue displays peace and power with his calm expression and four arms, each holding symbolic objects such as the trident and drum.
It serves as a gathering spot for devotees who come to worship, seek blessings, and find peace in the presence of the Almighty. It's a peaceful spot where people may feel connected to something greater than themselves.
According to ancient records, the temple’s origin dates back thousands of years to a legend story about gods, devils, and a heavenly weapon. Some believe it has undergone multiple modifications throughout the years. Even after all these years, the temple remains strong and beautiful.
This place is a unique spot where history, religion, and peace come together. Whether you come to learn, pray, or simply relax, this temple welcomes everyone with open arms.
