**TEST OF MICRO ORGANISM IN SOIL**
Today we going to be doing an experiment....
AIM :- TO DEMOSTRATE THE PRESENCE OF MICRO ORGANISM ORGANISMS IN THE SOIL
METHOD :- To each of the conical flask labelled A and B, a known volume of lime water is kept. A known amount of fresh soil is kept in muslin bag and tied as in conical A. An equal amount of well heated soil is kept in muslin bag and tied as in conical B. The well heated soil ensures that all living organisms have been killed. Conical B acts as a control experiment.
The experiment is left for six hours.
RESULT :- The lime water in conical flask A turns milky due to the release of carbon (iv) oxide during respiration by the living organisms. In conical flask B the lime water remains clear. This is because the living organisms in the soil have been killed by heating and so respiration does not take place.
CONCLUSION :- Soil contains living organisms.
