Week 2 Results - Fantasy Football League #3
Week 2 Results
As the Game of the week, the matchup between @nikethemutt (0-1) vs Jupiter Explosion @breakthrough (0-1) did not let us down. Besides this matchup and the one between Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 (1-0) vs @sevinwilson (1-0) it was blowout galore. We are down to 3 teams at 2-0, 3 teams at 0-2, and 6 teams at 1-1.Week 2 Matchup Breakdowns
Game of the Week
@nikethemutt vs Jupiter Explosion @breakthrough
Score: @nikethemutt 135.38 | Jupiter Explosion @breakthrough 147.4
Although these teams both entered week 2 they left with their heads held high. Even though @nikethemutt got the loss for the week, his team put up a staggering 135 points, the second highest total of any team during week 2. Tom Brady got back to his normal self with 30 points in Week 2 and Davante Adams tacked on another 23 points. Kenny Golladay, who put on a show in Week 1, scored less than two points for @nikethemutt. If @nikethemutt played Martavis Bryant this week he very easily could have won the week. Jupiter Explosion @breakthrough received the nickname "Wide Receiver Guru" after Michael Crabtree (32 points), Allen Hurns (20 points), and Emmanuel Sanders (24 points) all took flight in Week 2. Thanks to these guys, Jupiter Explosion @breakthrough picked up his first win of the season.
@paradise-found vs Nic Nasty @nicnas
Score: @paradise-found 131.34 | Nic Nasty @nicnas 111.74
Dubbed the showdown of running backs, this was the difference maker in the week. @paradise-found notched his first win of the year with his near perfect effort in Week 2. His efficiency rating (starters point total/potential points of the team) of 98.6% is one of the best I have seen. Rookie Kareem Hunt delivered another wonderful performance with two touchdowns and 25 points. @paradise-found's Green Bay Packers defense was underwhelming, but his Packers got the win nonetheless. Nic Nasty @nicnas trio of running backs Isaiah Crowell, Ezekiel Elliot, and Shane Vereen combined to score 18 points. Nic Nasty @nicnas needed great production from his running backs, but just needed get it in Week 2. With Jason Witten's 25 point performance it was not enough to push Nic Nasty @nicnas over the edge.
Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 vs @sevinwilson
Prediction: Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 93.47 | @sevinwilson 142.03
Going into Monday night, Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 was down about 12 points with Golden Tate left to play. The prior week Golden Tate put up 21 ppints and a similar performance would have given Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 the weekly win. For Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 Golden Tate only put up 6.5 points and @sevinwilson came out victorious. The injury to Sam Bradford was a painful one for Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 as he was forced into playing DeShone Kizer at QB, who scored less than 2 points. The high point players in Week 2 for Corn Cobb Pipe @mstodola91 were Mike Evans (22 points) and the Denver Broncos Defense (16 points). @sevinwilson escaped with the victory thanks to a 26 point outburst from Todd Gurley. @sevinwilson may need to rethink the play of ArDarius Stewart who scored 0 points and only has 3 points on the year.
Harambes Revenge @kryptocek vs @mikeshuh
Score: Harambes Revenge @kryptocek 111.76 | @mikeshuh 134.02
@mikeshuh remained undefeated has he picked up the weekly win against Harambes Revenge @kryptocek. Although Harambes Revenge @kryptocek had two solid performances from his running backs Javorious Allen and Tevin Coleman who scored 21 points and 12 points respectively it was not enough. The receiving unit of Harambes Revenge @kryptocek let him down this week as they only 35 points between Brandin Cooks, Tyreek Hill, DeAndre Hopkins, and Jordan Matthews. @mikeshuh only had two players not in double figures in Bilal Powell and Terrelle Prior. CJ Anderson led @mikeshuh with 30 points and even though he left 24 points on the table with Travis Kelce, he still came out victorious. @mikeshuh's team is scary good!!
@Shenanigator vs Gators @tom74
Score: @Shenanigator 126.62 | @Gators @tom74 68.58
This was what I expected from @Shenanigator in Week 2 as he pulled back to .500 in his blowout over Gators @tom74. Every single player on @Shenanigator's squad scored in double figures except for Justin Tucker, kicker from the Baltimore Ravens. What was most impressive by @Shenanigator's week was that no player scored over 20 points. With an efficiency rating of 94.3%, @Shenanigator had an incredible week. Gators @tom74 skill players were disappointing as a whole. Other than Mark Ingram and Terrance West no starter for Gators @tom74 scored more than 5 points. The surprise from Week 2 was Gators @tom74's Trevor Siemian who was on the bench while Matt Ryan was named the starter as Siemian racked up 22 points for the Broncos.
A team has no name @boatsports90 vs Rico's Raiders @richq11
Score: A team has no name @boatsports90 124.6 | @Rico's Raiders @richq11 111.74
A team has no name @boatsports90 had impressive performances from his QB, Derek Carr, and RBs Melvin Gordon and Ty Montgomery as each of these guys put up over 20 points. The Jaguars Defense, which scored 28 points in Week 1 laid a goose egg (0 points) in Week 2, but this did not matter as A team has no name @boatsports90 escaped with the win. Rico's Raiders @richq11 had an up and down week. His starter at Tight End Austin Hooper only scored 3 points for Rico's Raiders @richq11, while Eric Ebron and Ben Watson each scored over 15 points. Had these two guys started, Rico's Raiders @richq11 would have walked away victorious. Rico's Raiders @richq11 team is clearly talented and I expect him to make a deep run this year.
Look out for the preview in Week 3 coming Thursday!

@sevinwilson - This is another great recap! Thank you for putting it together. I hope you keep announcing my victories all year long 😀
Good game! Could have gone either way!
Thank you!! Except when we square off! haha jk!
Really happy this league is going well for me. I am a solid 0-2 in my other two leagues. Dagger.
Well done @sevinwilson on the summary!
Thanks! If you're 0-3 in a league I think you can begin to panic, but 0-2 you can climb out of the hole!
It's too late. Pure panic mode 😂
I have been in that situation one too many times
After going for 74 points in week 1 - feel a bit better about my team posting 147 in week 2. Sorry @nikethemutt sucks to lose like that - good write up @sevinwilson
Thank you! You had an explosion in Week 2. I knew you had a good squad. I think Week 1 was an anomaly.
i see what you did there...
Hahaha thanks!
