Tarot of the Week #20
Is This Forreaslies?
Before we get on with the Tarot Reading and the image associated with it, I just wanted to point out that many of the cards representing the future in this reading are in the upright position for a change. This doesn't necessarily mean a good outcome but, it was an anomaly worthy of note.
This is a 7-Card Past/Present/Future Spread and I wanted to first point out the dominance of Pentacle cards in this spread. When you are broke and invested the last of your money into having internet access, the tendency if for that aspect to show.
The top 3 cards all reflect the past. The first being the actual past, represented here by the inverted 5 of Swords. This card makes a lot of sense, as Mr. Dreamtree was recently visited by a Great Aunt from Tennessee, with whom he has consistently disagreed with over political issues. (Hint: She is a "Trump Humper"). With her visit, he was able to reconcile with their past disagreements and ensure her visit was a positive one with 0 political scuffles.
2nd card on the top is how Larry saw the past, this time with the inverted 9 of Swords. The 9 of swords represents thoughts of despair and allowing your thoughts to give into the things that you fear. Inverted, it is about recognizing this destructive pattern and letting go of the worry that comes with anxiety/desperation. Makes sense, he did see this visit as a means to let go of the thoughts that usually weigh down his typical day.
Final card of the top row represents what was learned, or what should of been learned. This time, it is the inverted 8 of Pentacles. His aunt, when she visited, did advise Larry to pursue artwork that is more "normal" as to insure his financial success. Her view is that his talents and energy are misdirected, hence the lack of financial success. Hate to spoil it for ya but, Larry won't give into such a thing. He has a style that is all his own which has taken a lifetime to achieve. Now he just needs to take that energy and put it out in an effective way. Yup, moving on....
Ah, the middle card, representing the present time with the 10 of Pentacles. Of course this card is accurate, as Mr. Dreamtree has been putting all of his energy today towards the acquisition of financial success and material security. He contacted a client to discuss the price of a drawing that she wants and investigated the possibility of obtaining, ugh, food stamps. He swore he would never do that again but, desperate times call for desperate measures. Plus, he has been putting energy into a future job that he will have growing Medical Marijuana. It will be a great job for him. In addition to weekly pay, the job comes with a free house with all utilities paid, all in exchange for 4-6 hours of work per day. Of course, this will leave him plenty of time to do artwork and music on the side.
Still here? The bottom row shows Larry's future, which isn't so grim this go around. The first card is the new influence about to enter his life, this time being the 8 of Wands. Wand=actions and the 8 simply means that his actions will cause things to manifest for his self in a manner that is quick and forthwith. Imagine having a food cart, or something, then one day a whole bunch of customers just magically show up for you. Sure, the work will be hard but, the rewards will be worth the effort. Hurray! Bwew, bwew!! (Laser Beam Sounds)
In spite of this, the following card, the 4 of Pentacles, says that he will be affected by the 8 of Wands in a way that will cause him to feel the need to save/horde his money/resources. Not a bad thing, really. It never hurts to save up a bit when the future isn't totally certain.
Finally, the outcome card, this time being the 7 of Cups. This card appears when we become indecisive on an emotional level because there are far too many choices or paths to take in life. When they all seem good, a decision can be hard to make. A good metaphor for this card is having a crush on several people and unable to decide which mate you want, because they all seem worthy. Though, knowing Larry, this probably has more to do with the emotional attachment he has towards his creativity. Not a bad card. It is nice to have your choice in the matter.

Thank you, we did manage to vent some of our frustration by doing an honest appraisal of another artists work. At least it generated some convo. :)
