The Maynes kicked off this semester proper with a range of genres and talented artists from D.C, Ohio and course a couple Motown heroes at 123 Pleasant Street in Morgantown, WV.

--Sketchy Pete - LIve Hybrid Set ft. Fixture--

"DC native, Northern Virginia resident, Peter Nguyen brings bass a new flavor with original tracks and compiled mixes that combine hip hop, funk, and everything in between. He’s been inspired by music from age, being introduced to the school choir/band in the fifth grade. His music career started like many others in a best friend’s basement where he developed a love for electronic music, gaining his name from skateboarding where he rarely landed clean tricks, "sketchy”. He is inspired by old school hip hop, new school Bass, and anything else he is feeling, including The Jurassic 5, A Tribe Called Quest, Black Star, Lupe Fiasco, (Pre-Carter 3)Lil Wayne, Kanye West, J. DIlla, Najubes, Dr. Dre, Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, Tipper, Rusko, Flamingosis, Gladkill, The Black Keys, Rage Against the Machine, and John Mayer. He is the illusive, imaginary and sometimes a little bit sketchy, Pete."
