Valley of Dry Bones

Ezekiel 37:1-10 "I felt the powerful presence of the Lord and His spirit took me and set me down in a valley where the ground
Was covered with bones. He led me all around the valley and I could see that there were very Many bones and that they were dry. He said to me "Mortal man can this bones come back to life"? I replied , sovereign LORD, only you can answer that". He said prophecy to the bones , tell this bones to listen to the voice of the LORD...........

This passage of the Bible has really changed my mindset toward circumstances. Though it seem like a very popular verse of the Bible but it carries answers that could grant peace to a man's soul gaining knowledge of it. This was the encounter of Ezekiel with the sovereign LORD, he was taken to a valley must of us encounter now adays in different dispensation, He wanted to show his might and power to His called prophet.

By the help of God's Grace, I will review this passage by verses and I pray God draws us to the knowledge of His words.

From the first verse, Ezekiel felt the presence and power of God rest upon him which took him down to a valley. This means until you're in God's presence or His spirit rest in us, we don't receive revelation to any circumstances or answer to our problem. Only in God's presence do answer come, prophecy happens and revelation are seen. Walking carnally minded leaves us blinded to possibilities and hearing God's speaks to our life , worries or situation. Ezekiels encounter was more of the spirit than of the physical.

Then Ezekiel was taken to a valley full of dry Bones, this dry Bones signified hopelessness, failure , stagnation, suffering, death , hardship, discouragement etc. This is the state when we feel nothing good is ever going to work in our life. The children of isrealite , God's own city were in this state. No surprise when we christians are face with such troubles and suffering, no surprise when we loose hope in life. Even people of the old passed through this phase.

Then God called out "mortal man" do you believe this bones will come back to life"? This is a point where many christians loose their blessings, God keeps asking us ,do we believe our situation will be changed" do we believe our hope will be brought back to life? And we are quick to say "No" because we view things from the perspective of a mortal man, we judge situation from principle, experience and fact draw from our level of education. But thank God Ezekiel understand this principle and replied "LORD, only you knows" . Ezekiel denied his knowledge and trusted in God for an answer , he forsaked his master degree, experience, mortal calculation and kept his trust on what God said. This brought about his Victory.

Similarly, when men of God prophecy, instead of saying "LORD, only you knows, let your will be done" we reply with "No, it's not possible, science and experience has thought me" and we loose our blessings on the way. As christians let's learn to trust the LORD to be the center of everything, to be the final say to our situation and not our human view of point.
