Flower Arrangements part 2
Depending on the choice of flowers, an arrangement can assume much personality and they are suitable for most spaces. Arrangements can be any size and colour and are a very versatile solution. I view this as a form of art and expression and people are sure to take notice when laying eyes on a beautiful bouquet.
Before starting the arrangement I had a few things to consider. This could be described as the pre planning phase. I considered what type of room the arrangement was to reside in and the intention of its overall composition. Arrangements carry strong psychological messages that communicate various emotions depending on the style and colour of the flowers used. For instance the choice of bright colours such as yellows and oranges will radiate motions of energy. The same applies to the décor of a room, if the walls were already painted yellow, a further flower arrangement with similar colours may too overpowering. In some cases neutral colours in flowers will help to create a more soothing and relaxing arrangement.
In china it’s also important to consider the types of flowers being used as they also retain meaning in the culture. The colour red is of course prominent for its good fortune but may be too overpowering in some spaces. I had settled on greener and neutral colours to give a natural and peaceful composition with the intention to not overpower the current composition of the surrounding spaces.
