This is what happend when DUTCH MUSSELS meet LADIES FINGER
It was to surprise that my first try with Dutch Mussels with Ladies FInger (Okra) could make such a tantalizing recipe.
It has been my dream to experiment with seafood and vegetables. A combination of condiments with Ladies finger (Okra) has been a common recipe I prepare. However giving a twist to this with DUTCH MUSSELS made a great combination.
I would like to share a few photographs and the key ingredients of this tantalizing recipe.
DUTCH MUSSELS - 1 Kg
Ladies Finger (Okra) - 500 gms.
Spices:
Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon
Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon
Coriander powder - 2 table spoons
Green Chilli - 1 (Optional - if you want it to be more hot)
Grated Coconut - 250 gm
Ginger - 1 piece
Garlic - 6 flakes
Tamrind - 1 small portion
Salt - to taste
Tomato - 1
Onion - 1
Olive Oil - 1 table spoons
Method to Prepare:
Steam the Mussles until they slightly open up and keep them aside.
Fry onion slices in olive oil, until light brown. Add chopped tomatos to this mixture and fry briefly.
Grind the tomato and onion with spice till thick paste.
In a frying pan, add oilve oil and fry freshly cut onion slices till golden brown. To this add the paste, and bring it to boil.
To the boiling paste, add Okra till cooked.
Add Mussels and stir till the paste spreads evenly on the mussels.
Serve hot with Rice.
