This afternoon we've decided spontaneously to visit the Thai Festival, which was held just nearby our place in Switzerland.

The Festival was held at the Stadthalle in Bรผlach for the whole weekend from Friday until today, Sunday.

We arrived at around 4pm and didn't think that there would be a lot of people during that time as we thought most of the crowd will eat during lunch time or for dinner. But as we have arrived there it was pretty packed and all of the tables were occupied. There were tables both outside and inside. Also all of the food stalls had a line as well.

Luckily it was sunny outside and perfect temperature! โ˜€๏ธ

We went there of course for the food, the fruits, and for some bubble tea :) The first drink we've had was some classic bubble tea, pretty much from the first stall near the entrance.

A drink such as a bubble tea cost around $5 here. We know it's kinda expensive but that's how the prices are in Switzerland.

There were a lot of choices for the food. Of course all the different variations of curries, fried noodles (love the Pad Thai), Dimsums and grilled BBQ / chicken.

Some snacks like BBQ sticks and fried fishballs are between $5 and $10. A meal like chicken curry with rice costs about $12 to $15.

11.jpg

There were also a lot of choices for noodle soup! The noodle soup you could have with duck, pork or fried fish balls. The Duck seemed to be the favourite choice from the people. A noodle soup costs about $15.

12.jpg

Shini really wanted this King Crab But unfortunately it would have cost $135 for a whole one steamed. Slightly out of budget for just a casual Sunday afternoon meal, lol.

13.jpg

There were also some exotic snacks there like fried crickets. Eating insects is not yet so common in Switzerland but I think they are trying to bring it back somehow. Grocery stores here in Swizzy are trying to bring it back to the people.

14.jpg

Shini chose some King Prawns with rice and some fried chicken skin, and freshly made Papaya Salad. The Papaya salad was made in front of our eyes and we could choose how many chilis we wanted for some extra hardcore spiciness. A Papaya salad costed us $12.

En Guetรค!!! This is how we say Bon Appetit in Swiss German

This was an amazing drink right here! It's a Sweet Potato drink!!! This was a great finale to our meal...very refreshing and sweet. Perfect as our "dessert".

Cheers! If you have made it this far - THANK YOU FOR STICKING AROUND!

Very sweet photos and the Thai food looks absolutely delicious very nice !

Thank you very much! Followed you and checked your channel! You have nice Henna designs! Wow!!!!

Great post again!

Thank you thebitcoinparty!

That festival looks really entertaining

Food, Drinks, Music and friendly people...it's always a great combination for a great time :)

What did the potato drink tasted like?

Something beteeen pistacchio, white chocolate, vanilla and coconut. It is also known as purple potato, or ube. In the Philippines there is a lot of ube ice cream which also has this purple color.

That sounds like a really good taste. Definitely have to try this one. The color makes it even more attractive.

Yeah if you're in asia and see a drink or dessert with purple color, then it's most probably this ube :) must try!!!

Thanks for the information

Thanks for stopping by :)

Wow so much food! I feel like Thai food now.. The Thai festival looks so much better there than here it seems..

I remember eating local food in Thailand, we asked for mild spice and when we ate it, it was so hot that it was inedible. We could not eat it, as soon as it touches our tongue, it scorches it. It was a very expensive restaurant too. Ah can't wait to go back there again... lol..

Hahaha. They also put just one chili into the papaya salad and it was already hot for us. I saw others who requested 4-5 chilis :D

We haven't been to thailand yet. Hope to go there soon :)

must...

Where are you from btw and where are you living now?

Originally from La Union, Philippines. Now living in Sydney.

Nice!!!

Great post! Very curious about bubble tea. Is it just tea with carbonation?

Thank you :) no it's not carbonation. It's called bubble because there are jelly balls inside the tea that you can eat. Those balls have different flavours and names. Can also have different shales and vary in sizes. So it's truly a dessert :)

Now I am hungry... :) j
