The United States Capitol 1994 Commemorative U.S. Silver Dollar

in Silver Gold Stackers5 years ago

Yesterday, I mentioned to @tattoodjay and to @silvertop in separate conversation-comments, that I love historical structures. So for today's article, which I dedicate to them, I want to show a Commemorative U.S. Silver Dollar that was minted to honor a historical building.

1994 US Bicentennial of the U.S. Capitol Commemorative Proof Silver Dollar

The obverse features the intricately detailed image of the Capitol Dome. Above is a halo of thirteen stars which represent our nation's thirteen original states. William Cousins is the designer-engraver of the obverse of the 1994 Commemorative U.S. Silver Dollar.

John Mercanti designed the reverse of this coin. It is a recreation of a portion of the stained-glass window seen in the House and Senate grand staircases of the U.S. Capitol.

These are photos of what is depicted on the obverse and reverse of the coin.

It comes in a beautiful presentation package that includes a brochure showing the architectural history of the U.S. Capitol.

Use the slider just below the photos below to read what is in the brochure.

I also have this silver coin in graded mint state condition which I am also showing here too especially for @ronaldoavelino who asked about it some time ago.

Those are very nice! I love the detail to the capital building especially on the graded mint one. Very special. Thanks for sharing, sis!🤗💕🌸

Sorry, sis, for some reason I keep forgetting to come to steemit after I post! I don't know if my auto voter is working for steemit, Let me check... I do not want to miss your articles on steemit.
Have a lovely Saturday evening, my sweet sis @elizabethbit. It was so nice to hear your voice again! Take care 🥰🌺🤙
snd lots of love and hugs🤗💕

No worries, sweet sis! There seems to be issues with a the auto voter lately. We were having maybe way too much fun with fire today, but we haven't had a bonfire in a long time. The sausages filled with cheddar were delicious cooked over the fire when it finally burned down. Take care sweet sister and have a lovely Sunday!🤗🤗😘🤗🤗🌸
