Playing the Sims: Jack Returns for a Visit
Victoria, and Jack Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sims Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically start your Sim out on a huge lot, with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.
After the two-day mourning period, the Steem women are still in need of some tender loving care. During this mourning period, there was a lot of crying.
Sims can mourn in many ways. They can go cry it out in their bed, they can water the plants with their tears, they can remember the deceased at the urn, or at their grave.
The Sims have the option to comfort one another. Franny took her father’s death the hardest of them all. It is heartbreaking to watch a toddler mourn their parent; if only in a game.
I have noticed that the Sims, no longer talk to each other automatically when they interact, such as when they are eating together. I have been manually starting conversations, to meet their social needs.
With a house full of girls, they should have problem meeting their social needs, but this has been another challenge in my Sim Girl Legacy challenge. I need to go from one Sim to another, to include everyone in the conversation.
Jack decided to come back from the dead to visit the family. He has been calling Victoria on the phone, but I have been avoiding contact. I guess he missed them all so much, that he decided he would forego the phone, and just show up.
First, he checked on Franny while she was sleeping, and then he went through the house. He found Victoria sleeping alone in the bed, so he climbed in, and went to sleep. I assume he did not want to be dead without his family, so he decided he would stay for a while longer.
This time, Angelica got the bed bug. There are so many glitches in this game, I would like to start over, but I won’t because this family has come a very long way, and I don’t want to start all over again.
I can only hope that after a few of the girls leave the house, the game will not be overloaded, and it will go back to playing normal once again. The game may also be overloaded by the amount of plants, and items in the home.
I did realize that the butler, will not tend to plants that are not beside the house. When the garden was on the side of the yard, the butler would tend to the plants around the house, but the other plants would be neglected. It is taking him a long time to water, so maybe a few plants could be sold.
When I was buying new beds for the twins, (I don’t know why I have not been just putting them in inventory; something that dawned on me the next time…), I sent Josette to release Jack’s spirit to the netherworld.
Releasing the spirit to the netherworld is one of the options, when you click on the urn left behind after a Sim’s death. It will notify you, that doing this, will forever free his spirit from this mortal realm.
As much as I love ghosts, having a ghost in the house, even a dearly departed ghost, will become disruptive after a while. They will wake, and spook the living Sims, or else the Sims will continue to form relationships with the ghost.
This will cause sleepless nights, and an unhealthy relationship with a Sim who is not alive. (IMO)
As soon as Josette released Jack spirit, he left by returning to the urn. The notification says, that his connection to the physical world, is growing weaker with each passing day.
Hopefully, the Steem family will not be bothered by Jack’s ghost, and he can now rest in peace.
Poor little Franny has been having such a hard time. She’s tired, and hungry, and generally miserable. She should have celebrated her birthday by now, but she is stuck in her toddler age.
Victoria made a cake to celebrate, but there was no, help blow out candles option… again.
We will have to wait for Franny to grow into a child, when she is ready. Once she does, we can put the toddler things in storage for the next generation.
It took some coordination, but I managed to get all the girls in a semi-good mood, before it was time to go to school Tuesday morning. They were still doing their homework, five minutes before it was time to go to school; but any of the homework being done, is better than none. Their grades were beginning to slip.
I did find out that, if all your Sim children do not go to school, and if you do not call them off from school, the other children in the household, will not be able to go to school. When Angelica stayed behind to eat her breakfast, the other children got a blinking red warning around their picture, stating that they were missing school.
The garden is harder to harvest because Victoria no longer has Jack’s help, but today’s harvest was enough to cover the bills. The recent death of Jack has been hard on the Steem family, and the effects of the mourning has been noticeable in each of the Steem children.
The twins, Angelica, and Josette will be aging to young adult in only three days. Victoria will be an elder in four days, and holding… and Jackie has one more day until she will begin her teen years. That is, if she has a proper birthday. Franny should be growing up to be a child anytime now.
I hope that you have learned a little more about playing the Sims 4, and what happens when your Sim must leave the Sim world. You have the option to go ghost busters with the deceased Sims, or you can develop relationships with them.
If the spirit is bothering your Sims, go to the Sim’s urn, and release the spirit. If you want to develop a relationship with the deceased Sim, you can go to the urn, or the grave, and then talk to them.
Until next time,
Happy Gaming- Sim Girl

So you've been playing the Sims for 26 years? Wow that makes me feel old as I remember playing the first Sims game.
Technically, the SimCity game came out in 1989, but the Sims game was not released until 2000. So I have only been playing Sims for 17 years, but who is counting? :D
never been a sims fan but I like the review :)
Thanks for reading and for stopping by to comment!
