It's another brand-new week of the steemit engagement challenge and I'm so delighted to be among those participating once again. In this fourth week of the engagement challenge, we are presented with wonderful topics from the various communities as usual. In this noble community, the topic of discussion is "The era I would love to travel with the time machine."

In this noble community, the topic of discussion is "The era I would love to travel with the time machine."
Most times, we think about the past and planned to go back to it due to some of the things we heard or saw that are not functioning properly in our world today. Most of us didn't witness some of these activities that took place but with the history, we have studied, we wi wish to go back to that era because we feel it's a better era. Without further ado, I want to attempt the below question as a sign of my participation in this contest today.
Which era would you like to visit with the time machine and why?
The current situation in my dear country Nigeria is not a pleasant one at all. Every day you see thousands of youths seeking ways to go out of the country because of the way the country is treating them. For that reason, I will want to go back to the era when the country was favourable to its citizens.
The era where we had a good government and a good economy. An era where our money is valued. This era was dated back to 1960 when the country first got her independence. During this period, the leaders we had are selfless leaders who are willing to see that the country moves forward.
During this period, everyone was so important in the country because the leaders coming out for various positions are coming out to serve the people but this is not the same today as the reverse has become the case. Instead of leaders serving the people, the people are now serving the leaders.
I want to go back to this era because this is the era when the life of a single Nigerian is valued. No shedding of blood, minimum harassment, and not much poverty because we all care for each other. An era where we see ourselves as brothers and sisters without checking religion and ethnicity.
Another reason why I would love to visit this era is to make a strong decree or law that will have all Nigerians highly protected and that leaders will also have it at the back of their minds that they are here to serve and not to be served. This law will guide the citizens and protect their rights from the strong and mighty in the land.
With whom would you like to travel that era and why?
The two steemians I will like to travel this era with are my most hardworking country representatives in the steemit platform persons of @ngoenyi and @fredquantum. I have been privileged to work with these people for a while and they have always worked hard to see that every Nigerian steemian succeeds by guiding them and also encouraging and supporting them.
If these persons are present within that era, I believe they will help to make a positive change in the country and everyone today will be enjoying the country instead of running away from it in search of greener pastures. Both people listed above are dedicated to their work and they are very sincere in doing it and that is what we need currently in this era.
With these people going with me, I guess we are going to make a very significant change that today everyone will be enjoying. So that is the main reason I will like to go back to the era with them.
If you get a chance to compile one thing from that era, what would you like to bring with you?
If I get the chance to bring something back to this era, what I will bring back is love and selfless service. I noticed over the years that people today go into positions in other to be worshipped as leaders. Before now, leaders have the mindset that they are going into the office to serve hence they have many responsibilities for the people but the case is not the same again.
So bringing selfless service and love into the hearts of the leaders will go a long way in making the country a better place for all. People won't be entering the office to accumulate wealth just for their selves and their families but they will consider the masses first before themselves.
Having a time machine will have to make the world a better place because we could have corrected a lot of errors. If given the opportunity, I will like to correct the situation here in my country Nigeria because a lot of people are suffering daily due to bad governance. Most times I feel pity for people but I can not do much to help them. I want to invite @solaymann, @wilmer1988, @petface, @chant and @lavanyalakshman to also join the contest.

The fact that you get to travel with them in a time machine is really cool. I agree with you , the era you choose from history and the things you have outlined here was very good compared to our today's administration. I also wished we can go back to that era.
Hmmm... There are a lot of things to talk about the Nigeria of yesterday, maybe some of us didn't witness that actual time when everything was stable but we surely witnessed better times than it was at the moment.
