It's week 40 in the Steem4Nigeria Accelerator Contest and it's a pleasure on my part to share my entry in this week's contest that talks about My Worst Highschool Experience. I want to discuss this topic based on the contest tips given below.

Give us a brief introduction of your school, the name, location and why it stands out in your location.

The name of my school is Army Day Secondary School and it is located in Afi Barracks Ikom in Cross River State Nigeria. It is a military owned school as it is situated in the barracks. The school was meant for both barracks children and those from the town.

So people in the barracks as well as those from the town come to the school and we have both civilian teachers and military teachers as well. Now the main reason why this school stand out among others is because we receive both military and civilian teaching.

One other thing that made my school unique and what made it to stand out among the crowd is the type of equipment and facilities we have. Since the school was in the barracks, the government gave it priority i.e making provision for the best laboratory, library and even game centres.

Most times if there is any inter school competition around the state and the local government, the school around prefer coming to my school in the barracks to hold it because they know there will be fair judgement and no cause for alarm.

So, in my focus we focus on every part of education and we take everything very serious. When it comes to studies we have good and qualified teachers for that when it comes to game, we also the best so every area we are always the best because we get the best training and teaching.

Share with us your worst high school experience.

My worst school experience was when I was in my SS2. Now in my school, those in SS2 are always given power to head other students after the first term because those in SS3 will be relieve of their duty to focus on their forthcoming examination i.e WAEC, NECO or NABTEC.

In my turn, I was to be the next Senior perfect of the school so a week before this ceremony will be carried out, some of my seniors including the senior prolefect at that time came to my class and asked me to follow them to their class.

I went in and mistakenly I touched the chair of one of the seniors and I was asked to kneel down and I was given the beaten of my life and when I enquired they say that is how the treat the next or incoming senior perfect before the are officially given the position.

I cried that day because I wasnt prepared for such bullying but they said that is the standard and it must continue. So that was the worst experience I had in my school days.

Was there any lesson learnt, kindly share with us.

Yes, I learned a lot of lessons from that encounter. Firstly in school where such actions are allowed based on the fact that it's their traditions to always do that, you should never follow a senior to his classroom no matter what.

Secondly, if a senior asked you to come in despite your refusal, you should also know what are the rules in the school when entering another class before you enter. In my school you must remove your sandals and go into the class without shoes.

You must not toche the sit or tables on the class and many more. So know the rules and abide with them. In that way you will be safe because they wilont find any fault with you no matter how the try so hard.
