Causes and cure for maggots living under humans skin

In this article I will explain the causes and the necessary prevention measures one should be taking to protect yourself and your loved ones. The mango flies are common flies that we see in our environment especially during raining season. This flies has larvae which can be burrow under the skin of mammals which include pets and human. The eggs of this flies are very tiny that we can’t see with our mere eyes.

Before we consider how long the fly larvae live under the skin, let us first discuss how this maggots are formed.

This maggots are form when a female mango fly lay eggs on the surface of soft material, either washed clothes that are sprayed outside or when the fly paste on the body and lay eggs. The eggs hatch into larvae which can survive without any host for two to three days and when get in contact with a mammal, either pets like dogs or human body. The maggot doesn’t get inside your body but they only stay under the skin. The part of the skin might look like a mosquito bite or like pimple when the larvae entered, so one need to always look closely when there is a development on the skin.

_{Removing live maggots in the body}

The larvae is a parasite that live under the skin and feeds from the body tissue. This will grow under the skin and during this period the portion of the body will form boil which is filled with pus and in that boil there is a small hole where the larvae breath from. They will live there until they are finally mature which takes about two to three weeks before they fall out from the skin as a living maggot through the small hole.
Note: When this maggot fall out the infection is still there and what you should do is to apply some antibiotics on that portion of the skin and also make sure that you remove the pus and clean up the affected area. You can also gently force the maggot out by pressing the skin as shown in the picture above but you need to be extremely careful in order not to cut part of the maggot inside the body which can be more dangerous. You can seek the help of a medical doctor to help remove the maggot. Secondly you can also apply oil or antibiotics cream on the affected area to help force the maggot out.

The following precautions should be taken to prevent this irritating flies larvae.

• Stop hanging washed clothes outside your house
• Always iron your clothes before wearing them.
• Don’t keep dirty or smelling things around your
  house
• Always take your bath don’t be sweating to avoid inviting mango flies to yourself.

Mango flies are not far from our environment and they can be prevented by keeping the necessary precautions so please avoid drying your clothes outside the house and if you must do, remember to iron them before putting on your body. Though it might not be that painful when larvae lives under the skin but it is always very irritating and can cause a serious infection. Stay safe.
