Looking at a city through it's doors

in #siblingtrip5 years ago (edited)

While on our Sibling Trip in Italy, England and Scotland I took pictures of the many interesting and unique doors I encountered. Here is a look at the city through it's doors.

Rome

Florence

Middelton in Teesdale, England
We were out in the country most of the time in England.

Scotland
The cities of Bathgate, Falkirk, Kilsyth, Sterling, Linlithgow and Edinburgh

I have never thought of taking pictures like this of doors in Arizona. It was fun doing in Europe where there are many doors that have so much history and character.

The idea of photographing doors is something you first have to come to. I think your contribution is very successful.

Nice doors! Isn't it amazing how many ornate doors there are in some of those places? I imagine Rome would be a great place for those interested in the subject, although those beautiful "Doors of Paradise" in front of the cathedral in Florence might still take the prize for most ornate.

When I lived in southern SPain, I used to take photos of doors occasionally. Even in the smaller towns and villages, you run across something unique.

Thanks @fotosdenada I agree, The Gates of Paradise are the most ornate and beautiful doors I have ever seen.
