Living Lightly : A Minimalist Experiment
I believe in living minimalist as much as possible. I am not married and I don't have family. So I choose not to own much. This allows me to explore the world more. And I don't have much attachment. Though I do have two sisters but I usually don't bother much with my lifestyle and the other issues. I just spend time around them whenever possible. So this leads to me living lightly so that I can easily move from one country to another and let my sisters take care of parents property.
Bed

I don't own any wooden or the metal bed. I have matress and I use that in foldable way. This allows me to sleep on the ground. And also lets me have the protection from the cold tiles. Depending on the region, you'd find such camping bed. That can be used to put on the floor. I have found out that it can be good enough in such case for the bed especially during travel.
Packaged Food
I learned from my Philipines trip and other places about the packaged food. You can easily pack a lot of it. And you can use it whenever you are hungry. I avoid usage of noodles as it can be unhealthy if eaten too much. As it has in past got me fat. But I make use of the oats and other healthy food like plum juice etc in packaged form.
Public Transport
If you travel a lot then you'd be forced to make use of the public transport. You can easily make use of the subway or the bus. And that can make things light. You don't have to worry about the transport system. You can easily learn how to make use of the transport and save money too. But that's just bonus. It frees you from owning anything. I'd say for that reason I choose to make use of it.
This is just start of my experiment. Hopefully I can do more with this experiment of living lightly.

Very interesting way of life.
I'm looking forward to more of your posts about being a minimalist. I'm not sure I could do it myself. I have downsized; when the kids all moved out, but... not quite ready for all you have done.
Yes it's hard to quit the possessions completely but it's something definitely one can do. :)
I would imagine if I set my mind to it, I could down size more... I applaud your dedication to living this way. Anymore, people have become too commercialized and materialistic and have more wants than needs.
Wow! How long have you lived this way? I would love the freedom and ease of being able to travel without material attachments...I think it might be in my future one day!
It's been 5 years so far. And it is getting better :)
