This contest has really been in existence for long and I really love the way it has been consistent in this platform, steemit is a platform that currently has alot of contests and I love participating in some of them every week. I thank @suboohi for still organizing this wonderful contest, I guess I will also participate next week again.
I want to talk about the previous strike in most of the federal schools in Nigeria more than 3 years ago. When this strike was going on I was still in junior high school. The strike wasn't an easy situation at all because it made alot of people helpless especially students. University of Portharcourt here in Rivers State, Nigeria wasn't an exception as the school was also on a very serious strike.
UNIPORT students weren't happy about this because they are unable to learn. My brother and I have alot of friends in the school and we always get some gists from them. I was really praying for the strike to end so that things can go back to normal. During that period I think my mum, sisters and I travelled to my grandmother's place because one of my aunties was getting married that period.
This was when my cousin Bro Hope came to our house and he was surprised he didn't see the rest of us because it was only my dad and my elder brother that were in the house. Sometimes my dad used to go for lessons because he has students he teaches. My cousin goes to UNIPORT and he was also affected by the strike so he used that opportunity to come to our house and live for 3 days for the first time.
Some of the lecturers even left the travelled to other place for reasons that's best known to them. They had alot of time to relax since they were not also lecturing students then. Students began to search for a job that can fetch them money and keep them busy till the strike is over. There was no vacancy for most boys and girls who graduated from high school because undergraduates have occupied all of them. Am happy the strike later came to an end.
Thanks for your participation. Best of luck for the contest.
Alright 😊
The strike has been for many generations the effective way to draw attention, but I believe that other strategies should be sought so that the problem does not become greater.
Thanks for the invitation
Success and more success.
Many blessings..🙏🏻
Thanks for your comment, I pray we don't see such a strike again.
