Start things up for at least 10 minutes.
One of the most successful motivational techniques I know is to do things you don't want to do for at least 10 minutes. You can look reliably at the clock. Once the 10 minutes have expired, you can decide to stop or continue. Often it is easier to continue the already begun things.
Try this for today. I have often noticed that it has helped me a lot and it helps people who find it hard to do unpleasant things.
It is also important to note that it helps you to stay on top of things.
The key to success lies not in the intensity but in the continuity of our work.
What if I'm really unmotivated?
Don't be afraid to do 5 - 10 things for 10 minutes a day.
An example would look like this.
After work/school/study or after your spare time you start for 10 minutes:
- Running
- praying/meditation
- learn a new skill (programming, foreign languages, etc.)
- washing-up
- Clothes washing and ironing
These things would take at least 50 minutes of your day and you can simply stop after 10 minutes, even if you haven't finished. The next day you can repeat and finish the same things.
The thought that you only have to do unpleasant things for 10 minutes and that the 10 minutes pass quickly helps enormously.
After only one month you will see great changes in your life.
Try it out for today.
