The FDA fast tracking approved by President Trump has delivered a test for Covid 19, that only takes 45 minutes for a full result.
This will reduce testing time from 24 hours, to 45 minutes; this is very important because informed decisions will assist in combating Covid 19 as quickly as possible. This will save a lot of lives!

"By leveraging the design principles of our current Xpert Xpress Flu/RSV cartridge technology, in which multiple regions of the viral genome are targeted to provide rapid detection of current and potential future variants of SARS-CoV-2, we have developed a test that provides reference lab-quality results in multiple settings where actionable treatment information is needed quickly."
"Cepheid currently has nearly 5,000 GeneXpert® Systems in the US capable of point-of-care testing and for use in hospitals," said Cepheid President Warren Kocmond. "Our automated systems do not require users to have specialty training to perform testing — they are capable of running 24/7, with many systems already doing so today."
Since the test equipment is already disbursed in the field, there is zero turn time on this, and the added consumables to test specifically are due to ship next week!

Fast response diagnostics will make the medical personnel much more effective. It will also unload medical facilities by not wasting bed space for those not infected.

Still can't get hive to run on my unix OS. I need to do some work on drivers. I agree they need to upgrade hive (from what everyone says). Hoping that it begins working well enough soon. I do plan to go there.

Drive thru testing is fake news. This is the fastest test thus far. The ones in current use are 24 hour turn, once it is in the lab.

Yes, and they wait for days for the lab to return results. They use conventional testing, and the test cycle time is 24 hours; they are just using the drive thru method, to maintain social distancing.

Good, this one is 45 minutes, and published recently. This 15 minute test might be an exaggeration of this actual 45 minute test. Speed is less important than accuracy, so we don't tell someone they have a condition they do not actually have.

It is way too delicate to be a real threat! When a true contagion hits, they burn the clothes and bodies, not clean them with Baby wipes!
