ULOG No. 52 I Went to the Market But I Have to Overcome the Flood
It’s quite silent at the moment. I’m not hearing any rain falling on the roof for about 3 hours now. This is a good sign. I hope that the monsoon rains halted for good. I checked the weather forecast for tomorrow and it looks good. But, for now, we have to deal with the flood caused by the heavy rainfall in the past 3 to 4 days. The rain was not as bad as yesterday, but a dam opened 4 gates to release some water.
This afternoon, I decided to go to the market to buy food for our dinner and I cannot do that without going down to the flood water. The flood almost reached my knees. Yikes.
I planned to buy talakitok and I found some; it’s still fresh. I bought 1 kilogram of it for 100 pesos. Hehe. I haggled with the vendor, she said 130 pesos at first. As soon as I got home, I started preparing to cook our food. I set aside a few for a different recipe and I fried the rest of the talakitok.
Now, this is our dinner.
My tummy was full. :)
