Sidewalk Chalk: An Underrated Medium
I've noticed some fantastic artwork since joining Steemit.
If you're an artist you probably don't want to use sidewalk chalk. I know it gets washed away in the rain, but you can still take a picture when it's finished, and it will last forever! Also, whoever happens to be walking down the street gets to see your work! Sidewalk chalk isn't what it used to be. You can find some really bold colors these days. If you live in a quiet neighborhood, it can be somewhat therapeutic to be outside, getting some fresh air while you reminisce about good times in your childhood. If you're a noob when it comes to drawing like I am, you can find a learn-to-draw and use that. 😂 I found this unicorn learn-to-draw on Pinterest. ;)
Another benefit as a mom is that I can kill 2 birds with one stone as the saying goes! I can entertain the children and get my "artistic" streak out of my system at the same time. The kids always request that I make two of whatever I'm drawing. A mom and a baby, but I didn't this time. The children were getting a little too cold for comfort. They are going to have to toughen up a bit if they're going to survive these Wisconsin winters!! :D I'm thinking next time I'll draw an owl, or maybe just take one of the kids requests, or both, but that might not be until springtime.
Much love, snowpea ❤😘🙂 :)
