Devlog - Virtual Pet RPG for Android and IOS - Using Unity

in #gamedevelopment7 years ago (edited)

Wassup guys,

Hope all is well, I haven't made a post for a while, I've been working on building the virtual pet game

My inspirations are Tamagotchi, Digimon world on PSX and maybe more recently stardew valley

I'm a fair bit into production now, the game is starting to come together and the demo is starting to give a good indication of my plan for gameplay, here is a short video, there are still no sounds, I've got only a few background tracks at the moment and havent really started on sound production yet.

there is so much I wanted to add so I am always second guessing myself about what should and shouldnt be included, I've never done multiplayer but if I get enough confidence to give a try, My initial intention was to make it similar to the digimon series and let players battle eachother, though one of the reasons I'm so hesitant to include that is because I'm scared of the extra workload of adding an attack animation and effect to each Pet, yeah, still tossing and turning on a few things

any feedback, criticism, ideas etc welcome, I could probably use more than a bit of advice xD

thanks for checking out my blog

This game is going to be amazing Sols, keep up the hard work. I believe in you xo

thanks my shkimmies xo 😍

Trial and error is the best way to go. Don't be scared of the extra work, embrace it, make this game the best it can be

this is supercool! I love it! I found you because Im currently on the lookout for developers to talk to about an idea I have. It is for an evolution based tamagochi style game that could potentially be classed more as an experiment than a game, but has plenty of room for discussion. I imagine its main development feature would be packets of information that can in turn create new packets of information, and that the complexity would be indexing the relationships between the information. I am not a developer so I am not eloquent in this field and I realise that this sort of thing is a lot of work so I am looking for developers who are excited about the concept of artificial evolution and would be interested in a passion project. Obviously in the crypto world there is plenty of potential to monetize but those considerations may have to be secondary to the thrill of the experiment! Let me know if you're interested.... the fact that you have been making virtual pet games has got me really excited and would be great to chat at the very least! x basil
