Afghan governor rejects Iran's support for the Taliban

An Afghan police commander has denied the allegation that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the Taliban, the governor of Farah province, Abdulbasir Salangi, has denied. He said there is no evidence of Iran's patronage to the extremist group Taliban.

After the collapse of some parts of Farraa in the hands of the Taliban, the governor of the province Salangi said this.

He said that in the recent attacks of Taliban in Farah province, Pakistan's intelligence agencies had hands. The governor of the province of Farah said that no evidence has been found in Iran's support for the attack.

Farhad province's police chief Brigadier General Fazal Ahmad Shirzad recently claimed that Iran has a hand in creating insecurity in Afghanistan and is helping Taliban fight against the Afghan government.

He demanded at the time when most observers in Afghanistan blamed the state's failures of law enforcement forces and in some cases their mysterious cooperation to the Taliban in order to get back to the Farrah government in this war.

The latest available news is that after the Afghan government sent additional troops to Farah province, the Taliban left their occupied areas in that province. In addition to Farrar in the last few days, Taliban attacks have increased in Ghor, Ghazni and Nangarhar provinces.
