Express yourself!

in WORLD OF XPILAR17 days ago (edited)

For the past 72 hours or so, I have been trying out different softwares for video and photo editing. Although I have very few followers, those who do follow me might have noticed that I participated in a campaign to promote STEEM/STEEMIT. Promotion Video For STEEM/ STEEMIT in WOX organised by @xpilar.

So yes, it was a good learning experience. You try different things, push your limits. If you ask me, I wouldn't have learned these new things, such as working on Canva, CapCut, Microsoft Bing AI, or many other software and digital world-related things, if I hadn't joined Steemit.

I learned about cryptocurrency and blockchain when I researched for these contests organized on the platform. Steem Crypto Academy

and a whole lot of new things in the past 6 months.

To tell you the truth, I even wrote some poems that were totally about steemit and steem:

Who would have thought that I would learn this much? My husband is still amazed that I had this much potential. Or at least he's putting on a good show pretending to be impressed!

These were some of the learning aspects related to blockchain and this platform. Other than this, I have learned how to do formatting, use Markdown properly, align texts.

I have learned and polished a variety of skills: writing blogs about my arts venture, expressing my motherhood journey through writing, researching my cultural heritage, discovering more about my own country, and finding emotional release through my personal blog. Additionally, I have expanded my vocabulary along the way.

Thank you so much @xpilar for letting me publish in WOX.

Most of all, I learned how to deal with people through the keyboard. How to not react so impulsively. The chain taught me restraint. It has shown me how to connect with different people from so many various backgrounds. It has made me believe in the essence of community!

And now, after being a mod in Dream Steem, I am learning how to treat different people - Treating in the sense of understanding things from their perspective, how to not only see the world through my eyes. For this, I'm thankful to @weisser-rabe for this grand opportunity.

These is my third contest in the Dream Steem. If you happen to stumble upon it, you will see that it's an autobiography contest unlike any other. Even I didn't know that I could pull off something like this. There are nine amazing entries so far, and today I will give myself a little credit for replying to all those posts on behalf of both the organizer (soulfuldreamer) and co-organizer of the contest, an old rocking chair that has seen better days. Yes, I can proudly say that it felt like an achievement. It was something I hadn't tried in my life before. So yes, another first.

I can very confidently say that I have put many hours into this platform, and I would say it's been for my own sake and my own interest. I would not say that I did it out of some obligation or duty. And in response to these hours and efforts, I may not or should not expect something in return. But I guess it is human nature. So if I count what I obtained from this, other than what I have already mentioned, I would say a few restless nights, challenges that helped me grow, some monetary rewards, but most importantly, some very valuable friendships – the most treasurable aspect, I guess. However, if I were ever to weigh these elements against each other, perhaps the number of honest hours that I gave to the chain may tip the scale!!!

This is my six-month roundup on this platform, and I hope I have a long way to go... And this is how I express myself today.

Signing off,

Your @soulfuldreamer

My husband is still amazed that I had this much potential.

Pfffff!!! I could have told him :P

Or at least he's putting on a good show pretending to be impressed!

Yeah honey... I know that you know that we know that they... mostly don't listen to us at ALL! hahahaha!!!

I have learned and polished a variety of skills: writing blogs about my arts venture, expressing my motherhood journey through writing, researching my cultural heritage, discovering more about my own country, and finding emotional release through my personal blog. Additionally, I have expanded my vocabulary along the way.

I have to share in this sentiment. When I joined the world of blockchain blogging in 2017 - I knew nothing about markdown etc. so yes, also had to learn all of that - but mostly, I am appreciative for the absolutely transformational journey of self expression!

Sure, I could always write - it was something I have loved to do since I was a young girl, but truly expressing facets of your journey - digging deep and doing it often, can become really challenging to ones insecurities - of which I have plenty, so it really challenged me - but has ultimately changed me and has also been an emotional life saver to me on more occasions than I could ever count!

Most of all, I learned how to deal with people through the keyboard. How to not react so impulsively. The chain taught me restraint. It has shown me how to connect with different people from so many various backgrounds. It has made me believe in the essence of community!

A thousand times yes!!!! I feel this to my core! Writing "forever" messages on the blockchain has a very impactful way of teaching us how to reign in our wild child that just wants to speak before we think, lol. Admittedly, it still gets the better of me from time to time, but mostly, I have learnt that lesson too :)

<3

You ability to look for the silver lining is a beautiful thing @soulfuldreamer. Never lose it

Thank you 🙏🏻

Thank you for stopping by and for providing such detailed feedback! One of those days, you know!

Occasionally I feel that people write rushed comments sometimes (myself included 🫣), but when I see a comment like this of yours, I'm simply blown away by how you pick up on the vibe and know what I want to hear. Maybe I need another hundred years for this kind of understanding. For that, I can't love you enough.

Thank you so very much Jaynie ❤️ and a very warm hug!

I have seen a lot of newbies on this platform. Some participated in the support programme, some were simple on the surface. Many (most) are no longer here and no one will remember their names.

I'll tell you honestly, this is the first time I've ever seen this kind of success. Your sincerity and sociability combined with your undeniable talents gave you a very good start. Many of the existing users (myself included) had a long and sometimes painful journey to their current position :-))))

The most interesting thing is that you are not slowing down, but building up )
Your energy can be envied in a good way.
I wish you health and further success.
You have a lot of household chores. Sometimes platform can be an outlet and emotional relief, but sometimes it can be an additional burden :))
Stay alert )))

And I am lucky to have found people like you.
I remember I kept engaging with your in the form of comments under posts until you had to notice me! 😉

I'm truly grateful for that! I've thoroughly enjoyed our dialogues, your unique perspective, your advice, and most of all, your concern. This embodies the kind of friendship and essence of community I discussed in my post.

Sometimes platform can be an outlet and emotional relief, but sometimes it can be an additional burden :))

I couldn't have said it better than how you've expressed it. And I completely agree 💯

Thank you for everything from the depth of my heart!

You are among the rare newcomers who have had exponential growth from the start. Not by luck but with consistency, dedication and exceptional talent. Now, I wouldn't call you a newbie, your commitment and genuine interest in writing, interacting and learning can make one think/feel that you have 'always been' a significant part of the chain.

Steem is one of the best things that happened to me. I think I can say that for you, right?

And I owe it you big time!

For introducing me to this platform and for helping me with my queries all the time.

Steem is one of the best things that happened to me. I think I can say that for you, right?
