SegWit, cryptocurrencies and blockchain: news summary of the weekend

  • The largest mining groups in the bitcoin network activated the BIP91 and started to signal BIP141, paving the way for the activation of SegWit this August 1st.
  • Different exchange houses of the ecosystem of cryptocurrencies, such as Coinbase, Xapo, Trezor, Huobi and Gemini, offered recommendations to their users against the possible bifurcation of Bitcoin this first of August.
