Yes! Please let us all celebrate the blank canvas. It will lead to great things. All it takes is a creative will. Love your new work! Been looking into textures and materials in art in general lately - and how oil painting is so much about that (as much as depiction). How structural can one keep it in photography is an interesting investigation.
Heeeeeeeey good to see you here! Yes, textures and materials - there's so much to play with! Wool and Silk are amazing materials and I can make both wearable 'art' (scarves) as well as 'wall art' if I want. You can dry needle, wet felt, and Nuno Felt, and so much in-between :-) It will be an exciting journey!
