A Moody Ride | New York In A Nutshell

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

Some may disagree, but ever since I moved to New York there is one thing I have seen all over the place.

Mood.

And by mood, I mean a wide spectrum of emotions given through facial expressions. Take the subway picture for example.

I took this picture because when I took moment to look around, I saw sad, happy, content, dreaded, upset, annoyed, disappointed faces. I mean yes, this describes everyone as a whole but it’s a different thing to see it in a concentrated area.

Hardly anyone is talking to each other. Everyone is just stuck in their life with their worries. That’s the reality of a ride on the subway. It’s kind of sad honestly. I guess everyone is so stuck in the rat race that they cannot focus on the beautiful realities around them.

Those that have found the freedom, those that have been able to liberate themselves from the rat race are able to see these small details in life every day. I only hope that I can inspire and bring others to find better in themselves.

I noticed it's like a defense mechanism. Having an unapproachable look on your face makes you less likely to be "bothered" and lets you get to your destination uninterrupted.

When I meet other New Yorkers outside of here (especially other countries) its a complete 360. We let our guard down and make acquaintances easy. I think its because the pressure is off and we can just be.

I learned from traveling to be like that all the time (Im lyin, but alot more than before).

Reminds me of a revelant xkcd Comic. Issue 610..

I don't take subways to work. I walk as currently i still live near the office i work in (about to move place, its so exciting!). I hope i dont have to join anymore rat race, it's been tiring. I want to be UNemployable, not be another sad face on the way to slave away.

Good luck on Steemit man! You're having a big potential, you will rock.

P.S. Comment as much as you can on others posts, that's the key!
