Catch the fish of your dreams

Each fisherman maintains a list of his record trophies. And me including)). And when it is possible to improve the result on any of the types of fish, it is always a very joyful and memorable event for me.
I'll tell you about one such case. For a very long time I could not catch a pike more than 10 kilograms. There were a lot of trophies weighing 7-8-9 pounds, and once literally 200 grams were not enough to step over the coveted line. Pike 9.8 kg was beautiful. But it was not a fish more than 10 ...
And in 2011, it happened. My partner and I went out to the Volga in the afternoon, to the evening fishing. In the morning we managed to catch a good zander, so we decided to devote the evening to finding new places. At one of the turns of the river we stumbled upon an extensive deep-rooted plès with a solid bottom and a depth of 7.5-8 meters. Around this plesa there were depths of 10-12 meters. Went all this area and in one place stumbled upon a large flock of bream, which was fed by shells. Where there is bream, there may be a large predatory fish. So we put the boat on the anchor so as to carry the bait next to this flock.

There is complete calm on the Volga ... The sun was beginning to decline: They made several ineffectual casts at the edges of the bream. I decided to make my next throw as far as possible in order to throw the joint of bream and draw the bait right through it. And on the approach of my bait to the bream, She pecked! After the sweep, the fish immediately rushed up to the surface, and made a jump upwards by more than a meter. This scene I sometimes dream so far. The calm on the river, the sun setting behind the forest, the white yacht that had just stepped around the bend of the river, and against all this background a huge pike, jumping out of the water and shaking its head ... We coped with the pike. In this fish there were 11.5 kilograms, and this is still my largest pike in the list of personal records ...

He managed to catch a lot of taiman for this fishing, but none of them was a dream come true. Until the last day of the journey has arrived ...
