What is it? Best answer wins 11 Steem! ResultssteemCreated with Sketch.

Yesterday I asked you what this is, then I offered to pay out just shy of 15 Steem in trade for your upvotes and to have some fun. I had fun. My kids loved your answers. All good!

Here is is the original post and below is a wider shot of the mystery item.

The best answer might have been something like: "Purple goo next to a paper towel" (full chemical make up below - plus a video of my 11-year-old making some)

The winners...

Because most of you opted for an organic guess, none were even close. But, payment is being made as promised, and I opted to pay a second prize, plus the 4.44 for the funniest post.

I liked the lung and tumour guesses - great! Mixed organs? Rock? Love it.

To pick the closest guess, I am going to have to go with the answer that incorporates the "goo" aspect along with the "absorbent" function.

Congrats @knight-angel

@bullionstackers was a close second capturing the artistic aspect.

And I award 4.44 Steem to @countrygirl for the "funniest answer" chosen by popular vote.

I really liked all the answers - thanks a lot to everyone who took a moment!

So what is it?

I walked to pick up my 11-year-old from school and he was asking if we can make something that he has been making at his mom's house and at school. He assured me that he knew how to do it and we only needed to go pick up borax at the pharmacy. We did that and proceeded to walk home.

He mixed his ingredients, made this lump, and told me it should rest on the counter. I watched this lump leak colored liquid all over the counter for 20 minutes and I kept wiping it up. Then, I put a paper towel near it to soak up the liquid, and I saw "art"

Here is Danny's successful attempt - made at my ex-wife's house.

So what is it?

White glue, borax, water and food coloring. Which, should have made slime, but instead it made a sort of putty, cracking, oozing, and crystallizing all over. It's not alive, doesn't smell, but yet seems to have an artistic value aging on my kitchen counter.

Thank you all for trying - the goal was not to "be right" - I would have flipped had any of you even come close! I was happy to upvote all your posts and comments as we went along. I hope I was able to add some decimals to your wallets.

I was watching as answers came in. Some had one word answers, then changed them to meet the 7-word requirement. I love Steemit and am always on line.

My Boy: Thanks! Yeah - he my joy, my sensitive one! He lives with his mom and I have to miss him all week. The older one, @osame066 is living with me now.
