Now is the rice harvesting season in Bangladesh. Paddy is harvested and threshed. The golden dream of the farmer across the field is to take home the ripe paddy this April-May. At this time many bodies are needed. Many join as seasonal agricultural laborers in cooking and threshing.

- The paddy has to be cut as soon as it is ripe. When paddy is harvested in a more ripe state, a lot of paddy is destroyed by storms.
- The stalks are broken, and the birds may attack.

- Farmers think that if 80% of the paddy is solid and transparent, the paddy is ripe properly.
- After harvesting, the paddy has to be threshed as soon as possible without leaving it in the field.
- If the paddy is threshed carefully, the color of the paddy becomes bright and clear.
- The threshed paddy has to be stored permanently after drying well in the sun for at least 4-5 days.
