Blast from the past - 1987 Lombard RAC Rally

Hi, friends!

Today we go to the first year of group A class in the World Rally Championship when famous group B was banned because it was too dangerous for drivers and spectators. Cars in group B were just too fragile and after Toivonen's andCresto's death at Corsica, group B was banned.

So, after rally car monsters, in 1987 group A was introduced and the cars were pretty much like the cars from saloon where you buy your road car but with tuned engines, dogbox gearbox, top brakes and suspension.

Videos show more the thousand words so it's better to watch it and enjoy it.

And yeah, here we can see Volkswagen Golf GTI mk2 model which was pretty rare rally car in the history of rallying.
