WRC - 2017 Prototypes Testing

Hello, Steemers!

Works teams are testing whole season 2016 a new prototypes to be ready for Monte Carlo Rallye in January 2017. There are new regulations with stronger engines (bigger turbo), new body kits and electronic central differential. Engines will be around 380 bhp but truth is that there shall be more then 400 bhps after few months of development after season 2017 starts.

Let we start with the WRC champs - VW. They will continue with their Polo model. Drivers will be S. Ogier, J.M. Latvala and A. Mikkelsen.

Ford is testing a new Fiesta (new Fiesta model is still not on sale so there will be possible problems with FIA homologations but team will hardly not be at the start of Monte Carlo Rallye. Drivers are still unknown but Ott Tanak is testing a new prototype of Fiesta so that means he's the one of them. Second driver should be E.Camilli who is under contract with M-Sport. Future of Mads Ostberg (their current driver is still unknown).

Hyundai will stay with their i20 model. Drivers are the same as this season: Sordo, Neuville and Paddon. Only question is the future of Kevin Abbring, their fourth and test driver. Time will tell more.

Citroen has the new car based on C3 model. Drivers are the same who drove this season for PH Sport: Meeke, Breen, Lefebvre.

Toyota is the new team. Their car is based on Yaris. Only known driver for 2017 is Juho Hanninen. Who will be his team mate/mates? It's still unknown.

So who will win in Monte Carlo in January? Let the best win! But it would be good for the sport if it will be smaller differences between the teams in performance of their cars.

Cheers!

Would like to see the ford in some turns thou not only topspeed jumps...

they were probably testing in Finland, and their roads are that way: wide and straight with log jumps.
