Hey guys! It's been a while since I showed you what I was up around here with pretty much everything. So I thought that it would be cool to show you the new homegrown flowers that I'm currently propagating for seed collection. From each plant I can get from three to twelve new ones. Building up my stock as I go into the next generation of each variety.

It can be tough when you don't have much resources, but as I keep working, each year gets better and my count of plants only goes higher as years pass by. I will turn ten years working with plants very soon...

With as little as this you can grow several plants, and you will improve the weather and the ammount of oxygen that you are either not producing or not realizing how much it's being produced with the trees around you! I know it seems weird but I have ran many studies and I'm confident enough stating that the ammount of oxygen made by plants has, as water, the capacity to cool down temperature, and allowing a flowing breeze that you can either call wind, air, mist or even rain. That flow of oxygen also helps to the water cycle on the ecosystem. Also take into account that each time it rains, or when you water your plants, that water also cools down both the soil and overall temperature around it. I'll try to explain further in another post.

This is the beautiful cosmos sulphureus, it has an orange, very solid toned petals and you tell me about its beauty. It's a very strong plant, especially against heat, direct sunlight and even dry soil, but it prefers regular watering as it grows more and can make bigger flowers. An advice would be to keep these ones directly into the ground, but also in a place where you can either let more seeds falling sprout, or collect when the flowers dry out and produce them. You can get dozens of seeds from just one plant, because every petal will turn into a seed after a few days. That cycle lasts around a week.

These are pink coloured mexican petunias. This variety is very different than regular petunias, because of its hard less wide leaves, and a woody trunk producing many branches that you can easily turn into new plants, propagating it by cuttings. A while ago I shared a purple one that is from the male plant. That means that as much as I clone it it doesn't produce seeds. This one is a female plant and it does produce several seeds, but it also can be cloned or propagated by cuttings. It's a very strong plant and another difference with the original petunia is that these flowers are very light weighted, and they tend to fall with the wind or even when watering. All of this occurs during the very first day, but when it's ready and well cared it produces many flowers every day in the morning!

Trick time

For a trick this time I'm going to show you how to make a DIY watering bottle. You're only going to need a plastic bottle with a thin cup, and a push pin:

  • First you will take out the cup and put it over a table or a counter that doesn't move, you have to take care to not make holes into other thing than the cup. Make sure to always perform a safe practice!

  • Follow a circle shape, and start with the wider border or pattern

  • Then you will make the second row of holes, making sure they are at a decent same distance between each other

  • Make sure that each circle looks similar and well centered around the next one It's not obliged to be perfect, but the better you do this, the better the results when it comes to watering!

  • When you finished leaving the cup with a well distributed pattern, you are ready to go! Just fill the bottle with water, and if you have a product to add to the water (fertilization, prevention, etc) you can do it straight into the bottle.

  • This is how the finished product looks like when watering. Who would have guessed that something we usually throw away could be actually of use?

Remember that you can be the change that this world needs. You can help nature, you can become a great example to new generations. Taking care of this planet's nature is a task that we all should share and promote as a way to heal the world. You need air and every plant cleans it.
