Get Featured on Steemit.com!
We’re excited to announce an open process for applying to be Featured on steemit.com. We want to bring as much positive attention to great projects and content creators as possible. To that end we have created the following framework which is intended to minimize the work required on your end, while ensuring that your content is optimized for being Featured on steemit.com and enjoying the maximum benefit from that position.
TL;DR
Follow the format below and submit your copy at least 7 days prior to the day on which you would like to be Featured.
Format
Featured posts should be short, sweet and to the point. They should have roughly 3 sections that each serve an important purpose.
Section 1: The Steem Audience
The whole point of featuring content on steemit.com is to maximize its impact for the Steem audience. That’s why we recommend starting off with a brief paragraph that explains why your offering (whether it’s a new feature, competition, incentive program, etc.) adds, or has already delivered, unique value to the Steem blockchain ecosystem and its users.
E.g. “Thanks to this new feature, Steemians will enjoy an entirely new capability that increases their opportunities while decreasing their exposure to volatility.”
Section 2: Your User Base
Obviously your users are your #1 priority which is why we recommend that the second section in the post be dedicated to highlighting how Steem integration has added unique value for them.
Section 3: Call-to-Action
The final section should be your call-to-action where you encourage anyone consuming your content to perform an action which ultimately benefits your project, for example by visiting your website or promoting your project.
Grammar and Syntax
Featured posts are the most visible posts on all of steemit.com so we want to ensure that readers (for whom this might be their first exposure to steemit.com) are left with a positive impression of the site and its Featured content. For that reason, we request that your Featured post be reviewed for grammatical and syntactical errors before it is submitted for review.
We know you’ve probably got all kinds of information you want to expose people to, so you should feel free to insert links and references to this content while remaining within this format.
Application Process
Once you have done all of the above, e-mail a copy of the article to andrarchy@steemit.com at least 1 week prior to the time you would like to be featured. Please bear in mind that conforming to this process is a prerequisite for being featured, not a guarantee. We won’t be able to Feature every piece of content that is submitted, but we will do our best to provide feedback when beneficial.
Steem Marketing
I'm conflicted about this - featuring posts and bypassing the stake-weighted voting system feels like a step backwards for #newsteem.
Featuring the occasional network-wide status update, or major development/fork news is one thing.. Opening it up to whoever asks nicely is another. Please don't overdo this.
I agree, at least make part of the requirement to burn a certain quantity of STEEM for it.
This is not only an excellent way to return value to Steem but also to reduce the number of dumb/spammy applications which then take time to evaluate, just the delegation committee is doing. The same method is also used by SPS.
i also agree with you too.
slap me with some raycorns. I call mah baby BAE corn
BIT corn
blockchain CORN supply chain using thomas cox strongblock :D
hey but for real ima buy some ads soon and give some tokens to steemians. i will actually burn at least 1 steem when i buy my ads to set a good example :)
I'm fine with this. Steemit.com is just like any other Steem interface that is free to iterate content discovery specific to their platform.
Not overlooking the fact that Steemit.com still remains the top steem interface, however, there is a non-zero chance that this will change. Some people like the UI of busy.org or UX of steempeak and so will not get this featured post show up on their feed.
I do agree that @steem.marketing needs to be careful with what posts gets featured and as you said, "not to overdo it"
It might be a good opportunity for long term Steemers (2+ years) that provide content, but are just not good at networking an opportunity to get noticed.
You make some good points however, and Steem Marketing might want to establish some criteria to be featured (Steem longevity, number of posts/comments, the always subjective issue of quality of posting, reputation, or anything else that might make the Featured process beneficial to the community)
It is now a backwards but just a feature as a innovation to me. I think steemit need innovation and will be on the move soon.
google has the top 5 or 10 links 'featured' ... to them that means paid for ... they seem to be doing allright, i heard they got this thing called xrp they got something to do with and no one makes a sound but when Faceberg says i want one the whole E.U. is upside down :D ...
perception ... there's a need to make money or they can't hold out on selling forever .. a rich kid like that dan-dude can run 20 nodes from the spare change at the end of the day but a company like steemit has wages, fees, taxes, licenses and what not and they didnt even get to the point where they're big enough to be noticed by the ravenous mastodon the E.U. is ... china doesnt seem to have blocked them yet ... everybody wants a piece when there's enough zero's but my current worry is more like : who's gonna develop if emperor Steemit goes belly up ?
how many nodes out of how many are needed to take it all over ? what's the guarantee the most recent hero dan-something doesnt wake up one day on a bad hairday and decides to put that million on auto-negative and move on to other shores ... steemcleaners would have a field-day countering it and have nothing left to fight the holy war on content ... the price is under 13 cents at 1/3 of a billion rolling, what if there's 4 times that just like DOGE, will it be 1/50th ... why doesn't anyone ever consider the dangers downvoting represents, no one considers removing it for one second ... no one considers capping the supply or the fact that
you can NOT downvote someone's bitcoin
and they seem to be doing well
hate to be mister half-empty with the glass and all that but i feel a serious lack of realism and i would still like to see this thing succeed ...
?
who's gonna pick up development if steemit can't hold it (it IS a potential and growing realistic scenario, its not like you control the global market, the last dip showed that very clear and i have serious doubts about the powerups not coming from 'stale' liquid steem as the price doesnt budge up one iota so it doesnt feel like anybody's buying)
i really like the fact that there was a failsafe that prevented the billions-disaster on the last crash, it shows aptitude and the potential to foresight so where are the failsafes for all that
if anything it's okay if i'm the party-pooper but id say when someone calls a bomb-alert you need to be ready to evacuate and i hope some of the upper echelon here are not trying to hype for a pump-n-dump exit scam
i know, but im used to it
it doesn't pay to be the realist ...
(i TRY not to react but im having one of those days ...) bursting bubbles ? no, just one of those days .. featured & featured ... no compassion in the marketplace ... it needs money to surive and the only way to battle hyperinflation with burning and downvotes will be to increase the burning and downvotes ... ???!???
?
nevermind ...
so use partiko or another interface.
its a problem. for example the 2 big actions ive runned here on steemit - community action for Binance and Huobi. it was important to post as first not wait a week. yet those would need this system.
so while i understand the 7 days preparation, some situations need faster time. imagine if peoipel started voting after 7 days from my finds.
I Imagine the featured posts @steem.marketing have in mind are posts that is more meant as community wide announcements rather than upvoteable posts.
Still, i would have preferred if the @steem.marketing puts more emphasis in their personal discretion into selecting featured posts, rather than following sets of SOP. Procedures will always be gamed.
Hey man can you help us pump SBD so we can get steem back to $8 again? :D
Hey Kudos there😃 Excellent support for Steemians!👏🏻
Posted using Partiko Android
