Dream Garden
To write as raw as Hemingway
Drink vodka and vermouth
Slip on that tattered glove
And play the game like Ruth
Compose a verse like Lennon
And believe in Yesterdays
Or kill a riff like Jimmy
And jam that Purple Haze
To live a life like Dr. King
And conquer all your fears
Or hug my grandma tightly
And smile through the tears
These are the dreams of a young man
With passion in his heart
So much hope and hunger
Not knowing where to start
They broke his dreams and wishes
They crushed them every day
Writing is for assholes
Playing music means you're gay
The mindless emotional torture
You're retarded, ugly, and dumb
You'll never amount to anything
You'll always be a bum
Relentless wailing and screaming
So constant and so sharp
The beatings came so often
And left so many marks
So now my dreams are different
With a family of my own
I'll never leave them hurting
Abandoned or alone
Their dreams I shall support
Their burdens I'll help carry
To their backs I'll be a buttress
Cause life will still be hairy
Teach love, compassion, and empathy
For this I'll take the lead
A child's life will only blossom
If someone takes care of the seed
So for now I'll be the gardener
For these new crops of dreams
One more chance to make it right
New life bursting at the seams

I love this and i'm indeed inspired. Just your poem persona, i live in a country where writing should only be a hobby, and when i stood my ground on it, most just snicker and are waiting for "reality" to catch up with me. Thank you so much for this.
