Welcome to Indian Village Wedding - The Engagement
Last few days, I was pretty occupied with some family function. Those who knows we had a wedding at home and I am pretty much stuck up with all the marriage preparation. This wedding is not like any grand lavish wedding, however this is a wedding at our own village with some traditional rituals and ceremony's. That include engagment, then Haldi and then marriage. So we done with the engagement part last night with my actifit score hitting more than 28 k activity counts. So one can imagine the chaos at a wedding home.
Anyway , the engagement started with a tent in our lawn area which was pretty much decorated at night with different colourful lighting.
At engagement function, the bridgegroom family visit the groom's home to perform many rituals, and the groom family have to make many arrangement to welcome the guest and also to share the occassion with their own relatives and family. So it is a kind of 1000 and more people gathering in a day. And for that we have mass fooding and sweet preparation at home. And the most common sweet is Laddoo which can easily be prepaired at home.
It was kind of more than 2500 Ladoo prepaired at once. And the cook easily managed if with some fine frying and then dipping them into sugar syrup.
It was a good , yellow BOONDI which was just tried to make some round Laddoo.
Looking for more village touch??, then watch these DHOL man. Yes we hardly make any arrangement for DJ, as this is customary to have village Dhol man to play some beats at wedding venue.
More interestingly, these is considered auspicious. Pretty old and traditional approach. But it's good to have some part still value all the Indian custom and tradition.
I do not have much picture of the proceeding,but the engagement ceremony ended on a high note and it was over at 2AM. Pretty late but being active throught the day asks for more stamina. Now from today onwards we have the haldi ceremony starts ...till the marriage day. I will make sure to share some more colourful stories in the coming days...and trust me the coming days is going to be more interesting and culture centric.....do watch out...

The only part of a wedding that needs to be lavish is the hearts of the people there, @steemflow. Loving the village vibe, the hospitality and the Dohl guys. Wondering if @eco-alex's drum is that big too?? More authentic natural, village life please!! It's so refreshing and keeps it real.
